Dispelling Myths

Myth: ChibiChibi is the daughter that Usagi had with Seiya.
Truth:Nope. As much as I was hoping that this was true...it's not the case. ChibiChibi has two different origins: one in the anime and one in the manga. In the anime, ChibiChibi was the embodiment of Sailor Galaxia's star seed. In the manga, ChibiChibi was the fighting force of Usagi. Kinda like the Moonlight Knight was to Mamoru/Darien. ChibiChibi is also Sailor Cosmos (read the manga!!!)

Myth: The original Princess of Uranus died and her brother (Haruka) took her place. Uranus is a Prince and he fell in love with the Princess of Neptune and now they are reborn on earth, still in love...blah, blah, blah.
Truth: Uranus was not a Prince; she was always a Princess. They never, in the manga or in the anime, mention any love in their past lives as Princesses. The planet, Uranus, in Japanese astrology is a planet with no gender...hence why in the beginning no one could tell whether Uranus was a guy or a girl. Uranus is a girl and has always been a girl and is in love with Neptune; it's just some people can't handle the thought of two women as a couple in anime. There are plenty out there with these kinds of relationships. Gender confusion makes for a lot of humorous situations in anime; those of you who've seen either Ranma 1/2 or Fushigi Yuugi know what I mean ^_~.

Myth: Setsuna and Mamoru had an affair and that's how Chibi-Usa was born with red eyes. That makes Setsuna her mother and that's why she loves Chibi-Usa so much.
Truth: Um, then explain the hair. Just the hair alone proves she is Serenity's daughter unless you want to go further and say Setsuna is related to the moon family. Not the case though. Personally, I think Naoko Takeuchi gave Chibi-Usa red eyes because she though it would look better than blue. So Chibi-Usa is a freak of genetics...deal with it ^_^. As far as Pluto being so close to Chibi-Usa (Small Lady), wouldn't you be close to a little girl you were assigned to protect.

Myth: Mars and Venus become a couple towards the end of the manga
Truth: First people try to turn the relationship of Uranus and Neptune into a straight one when even Naoko Takeuchi said they were gay...now they try to create a girl/girl relationship one with Mars and Venus. Ok, this one is not as easy to explain. They are some scenes in the manga which could be suggestive towards this conclusion. But...japanese girls develop close relationships like Venus and Mars display...basically they become best friends.

Myth: Chibi-Usa (Rini) inherited her red eyes from her Great Grandma Queen Serenity!!! or the reason chibi usa has read eyes is because she belongs to Prince Diamond and Neo Queen Serenity.
Truth Ummm....that's creative. It shows that all Sailormoon fans will think every little detail to death. But, the color of Rini's eyes seems to be a hot topic every since a rumor that Setsuna (Trista) had an affair with Endymion (Darien) in the future and that's why Rini's eyes are red. While, this would make sense regarding Sailorpluto's undying devotion and love for the brat, it's just not true. And neither is the story of her eye color coming from her great grandmother. Sorry everyone but her eye color is NEVER explained and it shouldn't have to. Can anyone tell me why Usagi's (Serena's) parents look NOTHING like her. How did they ever explain the hair to her as a child? Her coloring was all Naoko Takeuchi's doing and she tried to make Chibi-Usa look different from the previous Serenitys, hence her red eyes and oblong meatballs. Prince Diamond is a new one for Rini's paternity. He doesn't even have red eyes! Besides, doesn't Neo Queen Serenity hate him? Wouldn't you hate someone who locked you inside a crystal and tried to destroy your kingdom?

Myth: Are Sailor Chibi-Moon and Sailorsaturn gay too?
Truth Only if you've been to various hentai sites. Gee, thanks to everyone who sent me pictures as "proof". Sorry to disappoint you but girls can be close friends without being gay. If you did see these infamous pictures, you were most likely surfing in places you shouldn't so everyone get their minds out of the gutter and realize that fans drew those hentai pictures and not Naoko Takeuchi (the series creator).

Myth: "Amy was really an alien that crossed the moon palace and decided to join the moon kingdom...thats why she has an incredible intelegence."
Truth: Another example of Sailormoon fans and their need to reason. Not true as well. Ami is so smart because of her ruling planet of Mercury. Since the girls are all from other planets, wouldn't they all be aliens? Well, before I start a controversy, please just take the story as it is!

Myth: The american name of Uranus is Alex. (out-dated Myth by now)
Truth: And while everyone was able to predict Michelle as Neptune's north american name, no one predicted Amara (Umara) for Uranus. It's unique and I like it. After Sailormoon's first US cancellation, the dolls were released and the name "Alex" was given to the Uranus doll and "Michelle" was given to Neptune. The company that manufactured the dolls apparently decided not to inform Cloverwei (company now releasing sailormoon) of the names or they decided to choose their own so now "Amara" is Uranus' name, not Alex.

Myth: SailorJupiter and SailorMars are a couple too!
Truth: Now that's just silly. Now, let me just say one thing: there are TWO sets of couples among the sailor senshi: Usagi (Sailormoon) & Mamoru (Tuxedo Kamen .... and technically he's Sailor Earth), and Haruka (Sailoruranus) & Michiru (Sailorneptune) and THAT'S IT. No other couples within the senshi so quit trying to imply otherwise!

Myth: Long ago on the moon kingdom Prince Uranus was deeply in love with Princess Neptune. But during the battle with Queen Beryle (na version) he was forced to give up his life to protect the moon kingdom. Devestated by her brothers death Little Princess Uranus Gave up her life to her brother and she was reincarnated on Earth in her Brothers place along with Neptune. But having her brothers spirit in her she once again fell in love with Neptune and bla bla bla their relationship.
Truth: No sorry SOS thats not how it goes this absurd rumor was started by SOS a few years ago. Prince Uranus never existed and their is no proof that the outer senshi ever existed during the silver millenium. NEPTUNE AND URANUS are a couple wether Sos likes it or not.

Myth:there's a rumor that Sailor Saturn is gothic...but she's not she's just mis-judged
Truth: That's cute ^_^ Nope not gothic and she's not mis-judged. She's the destroyer of worlds!!! Let her be gothic if she wants!

Myth: "I heard that ether during moon kingdom or before the death of there parents,Darien and Lita had been brother and sister ,and it was Darien who gave Lita the rose earrings for her Birthday."
Truth: Out of all the rumors I have ever heard, this is my favorite. And I mean that in a good way. It makes sense. But alas, Mamoru (Darien) has no family - and it was NEVER implied in the anime or the manga. The rose earrings are more there to give the character of Jupiter a bit of femininity in addition to her being a bully.

Myth: Rei and Hotaru are related.
Truth: Why? Because they both have black hair and purple eyes?

Myth: Sailor jupiter is actually an outer senshi and was reborn on earth close to the princess because the other outer senshi couldnt be found. she was sailor moons protector as well untill the other outer senshi arrived.
Truth: While the planet Jupiter is considered an outer planet, don't think logically when it comes to Sailormoon. Here's the math: 4 inner senshi (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter) skip the earth and the moon (since in Japanese old culture, the moon was considered the center of the universe) and then you've got the 4 outer senshi (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto). They had to keep it even ^_^ Besides, while it's true that the inner senshi are the protectors of the princess; the outer senshi are only concerned with protecting Crystal Tokyo.
